On Tuesday 13 October, from 2 pm to 4 pm, the young participants in the ‘Mobility’ educational camp organised by the Johanneum Children and Youth Foundation will be training with Max Heß, the triple jumper from Chemnitz. This will take place at the Schullandheim in Küchwald, Küchwaldring 26.
Media representatives are invited to attend. Please register by 11.00 am on 13 October by emailing: pressestelle@stadt-chemnitz.de.
Max Heß will demonstrate athletics training exercises to the young people and let them try them out for themselves. The focus will be on fundamental sporting skills such as strength, speed and coordination. The training session with Max Heß not only offers the young people the chance to gain new sporting experiences, but also provides an insight into competitive sport. The direct interaction is intended to motivate them to test their own limits, try new things and have fun exercising together.
The session is part of the programme for the six-day educational camp, which takes place from 11 to 16 October at the Schullandheim in Küchwald. Under the theme of ‘mobility’, the week combines education, physical activity and shared experiences. As well as sporting activities, the programme includes visits to the Saxon State Parliament, the Transport Museum, the park railway and the tram depot of Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG.
The ‘Johanneum’ Children’s and Youth Foundation is a foundation of the City of Chemnitz. It supports numerous projects, including the Johanneum Academy. Among other things, it offers educational programmes, sport and creative activities to socially disadvantaged children during the school holidays.
