Trinational team of educators advises on educational work with autistic people in Chemnitz
Invitation to the photo session: 22 May, 2 p.m., Chemnitz City Hall, Grüner Salon
On Wednesday, 22 May 2019 at 2 p.m., the EU Coordinator of the City of Chemnitz, Pia Sachs, will welcome 20 educators and project partners from Italy, Romania and Germany to Chemnitz City Hall. The aim is to exchange ideas on educational work with autistic people. This is made possible by the ERASMUS+ project "A.W.A.R.D. - Autistic World A Real Dimension". The partner in Chemnitz is solaris Förderzentrum für Jugend und Umwelt GmbH Sachsen.
The project focusses on teenagers and young adults. Special educational games are to be developed for them together with the German Games Museum. Cooperation with the Chemnitz Autism Centre has also been agreed so that these can be tested in practice in the near future. The ideas from the meeting in Chemnitz will be realised by a game designer from Leipzig. One of the main challenges for the teachers will be to take into account the wide range of autism diagnoses.
During their visit to Chemnitz City Hall, the European participants will learn about the work of the City of Chemnitz in the EU area and receive information about the city and its history.
