Invitation to the symposium: Tuesday, 3 December, from 9 a.m., Kraftwerk
On Tuesday, 3 December, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the symposium "Versuch(t)ung Drogen - Cannabis" will take place at Kraftwerk Chemnitz. The invitation is aimed at professionals, affected persons, parents and interested parties and provides an overview of the current state of knowledge on cannabis. Participation in the symposium costs 25 euros. Registration is possible at www.suchtpraevention-sachsen.de.
Not only parents, but also professionals are often unsure how to communicate their own attitude towards drugs to the younger generation and strengthen risk competence in times of the legalisation debate. Workshops are held to learn how to recognise users and gain access to them. Suitable life skills and addiction prevention programmes are presented for schools. For example, the cannabis case for loan, which contains an interactive prevention course, is a practical tool for participants.
The prevalence of cannabis among adolescents and young adults has increased since 2008 and reached its highest level to date in 2018 (source: BZgA 2019). The current development emphasises the immense need for education and prevention in order to avoid health and social impairments among young users.
