From 26 October (calendar week 44), trees on the southern bank of the Pleißenbach, upstream from the junction with Rudolf-Krahl-Straße, will be felled. This is necessary as the previously built-up riverbank is also being widened at this point.
A total of 38 deciduous trees of various sizes and 20 spruce trees will be felled. The spruce brushwood obtained in the process will be reused on site to construct ‘Totfaschinen’ (cylindrical bundles of twigs made from deciduous or coniferous wood that cannot sprout) for bank stabilisation along the Pleißenbach.
The work will take place immediately prior to the completion of the ‘New Pleißenbach Green Corridor – BA 2.1’ project and will be carried out by Phönix-Bau GmbH of Aue-Bad Schlema.
