Tree pruning and felling in the first quarter
The ongoing tree inspections and the results of the current expert report have shown that tree maintenance work (pruning and felling) must be carried out for safety reasons.
Without exception, all of the upcoming work is urgent and will be carried out exclusively in the first quarter of 2014 to maintain or restore road safety. All woodland maintenance measures in terms of the duty to maintain road safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.
Wherever space permits, the Parks Department will arrange for replanting. Please refer to the attached list for detailed information on the reasons for felling.
