Tree planting on the bank retaining wall
Tomorrow, tree planting will begin on the streets "An der Markthalle" and "Hartmannstraße". These measures mark the completion of the renovation of the bank retaining wall.
From Friday, 26 April, three locust trees will be planted on the green area on the outskirts of the city, to the right of the Chemnitz river on Hartmannstraße. Nine weeping cherries and a lime tree will be planted at the market hall to supplement the existing street trees. The planting work is expected to be completed in mid-May 2019.
Once the trees have been planted, they will be maintained accordingly until October 2020.
The total costs for planning, construction and planting services, including maintenance, amount to approx. 18,700 euros.
