Tree maintenance work in the city of Chemnitz in winter 2012/2013 (IV quarter 2012 and I quarter 2013)
The ongoing tree inspections and the results of the current expert report have shown that tree maintenance work (pruning and felling) must be carried out on the trees on the attached list for reasons of road safety in the city of Chemnitz. Without exception, all of the upcoming work involves urgent measures that serve to maintain or establish road safety.
All tree maintenance measures in the sense of the duty to ensure traffic safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.

The felling and pruning measures (appendix) will only be carried out in winter in the fourth quarter of 2012 and the first quarter of 2013. Wherever space permits, the City of Chemnitz/Grünflächenamt will arrange for replanting.
