Tree felling work in the urban areas
Work is currently underway in the city areas of Chemnitz Southwest, Southeast and North to fell trees in the traffic green areas. The ongoing external tree surveys have identified damage to trees that could lead to them losing their breaking or stability. This means that the trees in question are in danger of breaking off or falling over. The trees listed in the appendix require immediate action.
The locations of the trees can be viewed interactively on the city of Chemnitz's themed city map at www.chemnitz.de/themenstadtplan.
Without exception, all of the upcoming work is urgent and serves to maintain or establish road safety. All tree maintenance measures in terms of traffic safety are legally permissible.
The wood from the felled trees becomes the property of the companies commissioned with the tree felling, Dieter Richter GmbH and Chemnitzer Forst- und Landschaftsservice.
