Tree felling on Terrassenstraße near house number 3
The ongoing tree inspections have revealed that the tree on Terrassenstraße at house number 3, a maple, requires immediate action.
The maple is in acute danger of breaking. The wide-spreading crown causes a newly discovered, continuous crack to open up further with every movement of the wind. The crown can break apart at any time.
The trunk head of the mighty Norway maple is shaped like a twig. Due to the onset of trunk rot, the fork has been under increased observation by the Parks Department and an external expert for some time.
The tree must be felled immediately. Whether a replacement can be planted is being examined.
