Tree care work in spring/summer 2014 (second and third quarter)
Tree maintenance work involving pruning and felling will have to be carried out in the city of Chemnitz in spring and summer 2014 for reasons of road safety. This is the result of ongoing tree inspections and the findings of the latest expert report. The Parks Department would like to point out that all upcoming work is, without exception, urgent measures that serve to maintain or establish road safety and will only be carried out in the second and third quarters of 2014.
All woodland maintenance measures in terms of the duty to maintain road safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.
Wherever space permits, the Parks Department will arrange for replanting. Detailed information on the reasons for felling and pruning measures can be found in the two overviews (appendix).
