Tree care work in autumn and winter
Tree maintenance work, including pruning and felling, must be carried out in the city of Chemnitz in autumn and winter - this is the result of the ongoing tree inspections. The Parks Department would like to draw attention to the fact that all upcoming work is, without exception, urgent measures that serve to maintain or establish road safety.
The work will only be carried out in the fourth quarter. All woodland maintenance measures in terms of the duty to maintain road safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.
Wherever space permits, the Parks Department will arrange for replanting. Detailed information on the reasons for felling and pruning measures can be found in the two overviews (appendix).
