Tree care work and felling in the urban area
The work announced in the appendix will be carried out in the first quarter of 2013
The ongoing tree inspections and the results of the current expert report have shown that tree maintenance work (pruning and felling) must be carried out on the trees on the attached list for reasons of road safety in the city of Chemnitz. Without exception, all of the upcoming work involves urgent measures that serve to maintain or establish road safety.
All tree maintenance measures in the sense of the duty to ensure traffic safety are legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under §39 BNatSchG or §25 SächsNatSchg.
Please refer to the appendix for the specific felling and pruning measures. Wherever space permits, the City of Chemnitz/Grünflächenamt will arrange for replanting.
