Tree care in the south-west, south-east and north urban areas
This week, work will begin on major tree maintenance measures in the traffic green areas in the south-west, south-east and north of the city.
During the ongoing tree inspections, damage to trees has been identified that is leading to a loss of stability or stability. This means that the trees in question are in danger of breaking off or falling over. There is therefore an immediate need for action.
To avoid felling, only the treetops are shortened.
The locations of the trees can be viewed interactively via the city of Chemnitz's themed city map.
All of the upcoming work is, without exception, urgent measures that serve to maintain or establish road safety.
All tree maintenance measures in terms of traffic safety are legally permissible and have been agreed with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority.
The wood resulting from the measures becomes the property of the companies commissioned with the work.
The tree care company Dieter Richter GmbH was commissioned to carry out the work in the north urban area and Baumteam Zeits GbR in the south-west and south-east urban areas.
