“Treats or you’ll get a prehistoric dinosaur!”

Natural History Museum: Halloween party at the ‘Window into Earth’s History’ – on 24 October, from 3 pm to 7 pm, Glockenstraße 16

On Saturday 24 October, from 3 pm to 7 pm, children and teenagers are invited to the Halloween party ‘Trick or Treat: Prehistoric Dinosaurs’ at the ‘Window into Earth’s History’, Glockenstraße 16. By candlelight and torchlight, there’ll be spooky stories, pumpkin carving, eerie costumes and much more.

Attendance is free of charge. No booking is required.

The excavation tent is thoroughly haunted; the skeletons of the prehistoric dinosaurs rattle in the wind, and the clanking of chains can be heard time and again. A spooky figure strides about, telling tales from a bygone era – of smoking volcanoes and prehistoric dinosaurs in their death throes.
Little ghosts float near the ceiling, the light flickers constantly, spiders spin their enormous webs, and eerie shadows dance across the excavation site. The brave can chase away the ghosts haunting the area by throwing tins to create clattering noises. At Halloween, pumpkins also spring up like mushrooms. Who can carve spooky or funny faces out of them? One of the little ghosts has hidden the ingredients for the magic potion at the Hexentanzplatz. Who can help find them again?
Anyone who fancies it is welcome to dress up and come in fancy dress; with a bit of luck, there’ll be a small prize for the best costume. You’ll definitely be able to have your photo taken against a spooky Halloween backdrop as a souvenir.
With this Halloween party, the staff of ‘Window into Earth’s History’ are taking a winter break from the excavation.

The event is co-funded by the European Union as part of the ESF Plus project ‘Window into Earth’s History’ (application number: 100731465). This initiative is co-financed by tax revenue based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
