Travelling through Europe with an EU programme
Young people can apply online for travel vouchers from 12 October
The application portal for Discover EU launches on Tuesday 12 October at 12 noon. In this European Union programme, young people can apply online for travel vouchers by train to discover Europe.
With Discover EU, young people can travel through Europe alone or in groups of up to four people for a maximum of one month. This enables them to get to know other countries and cultures and develop their European identity. Young people with disabilities or health problems can count on special support so that they too can take part in Discover EU.
All young people from EU countries born between 1 July 2001 and 31 December 2003 are eligible to apply.
Applications can be submitted until 26 October, 12 noon via the EU youth portal https://europa.eu/youth/discovereu_de. Participants will be notified by email from 6 January 2022.
The possible travel period is between 1 March 2022 and 28 February 2023 and the trips can last up to 30 days. A total of 60,000 travel passes are available. The Discover EU initiative has been part of the EU Erasmus+ Youth programme since 2021.
