Travelling by train throughout Europe free of charge
18-year-olds can apply from 15 March
From Wednesday 15 March, young people can once again apply for one of the travel passes that allow them to travel around Europe for up to 30 days free of charge. The offer is open to young people born between 1 July 2004 and 30 June 2005 who live in an EU member state or a third country associated with Erasmus+.
Applications can be submitted until 29 March, 12 noon via this link.
With the travel pass, the winners can then travel through Europe for up to 30 days in the period from 15 June to 30 September 2023. The selected participants will also receive a discount card offering discounts on public transport, sports, food and accommodation, among other things. They can also take part in English-language "meet-ups" with a cultural programme.
This year, a total of 70,000 travel passes will be awarded, 35,000 of which will be within this first call. Five multiple-choice questions about the EU and a random question must be answered in order to receive a passport. The travel passes will then be awarded according to a ranking list. Applications can be submitted individually or as a group of up to five people.
