"trau.schau.wem? - fact-based and media-safe" - VHS project to promote media literacy

On Thursday, 2 September at 10 a.m., Grit Bochmann, Head of the Adult Education Centre, and Astrid Günther, Head of the People and Society Department, will hold a press conference to present the Adult Education Centre's new project to promote media skills "trau.schau.wem? - fact-proof and media-safe". Media representatives are cordially invited to the TIETZ, room 4.49.
The two-and-a-half-year project aims to strengthen information and news literacy and is aimed at adult Chemnitz residents with programmes for various target groups. The adult education centre is working together with regional media partners.
The project will kick off on 16 September with the event "Media under pressure - why we all need more media literacy!". On this evening, media journalist Peter Stawowy, known from the MDR format MEDIEN360G among others, will talk about the changes in the media landscape over the last few decades. He will address the effects of this change on the functions and working methods of media and explain why media literacy is becoming increasingly important for users.
