Transfer of day care centre in Usti nad Labem Street 197 to Jugendhilfe Kindervereinigung Chemnitz e.V.

At its meeting today, the city council decided to transfer the daycare facility at 197 Usti nad Labem Street to the independent youth welfare organisation Kindervereinigung Chemnitz e. V. with effect from 1 January 2016.

In order to guarantee crèche and kindergarten places for parents and their children, it was necessary to renovate the building, which had previously been used as a temporary facility, and reactivate it as a daycare centre. With a capacity of 90 places, including 24 crèche and 66 kindergarten places, the facility is part of the daycare centre requirement planning from May 2015.

An expression of interest procedure was carried out to transfer the facility to an independent youth welfare organisation. Five independent organisations applied for the Usti nad Labem 197 day care centre. The contract was awarded to the youth welfare organisation Kindervereinigung Chemnitz e.V.

By operating the centre and accepting the children, the provider guarantees the required number of educational specialists in accordance with the SächsKitaG.

Kindervereinigung Chemnitz e. V. has been a recognised provider of independent youth welfare services since 1995. It is active in various youth welfare services. For example, the organisation runs day care centres in Chemnitz and in the districts of Zwickau and Erzgebirge, children's, youth and school clubs as well as the Spielmobil.
