Trainees from Spain visit Chemnitz town hall
Bildungs-Werkstatt Chemnitz gGmbH has been involved in projects in the EU's "Leonardo" programme for several years now: The programme enables young people to gain experience in other European countries as part of their vocational training. From 28 August to 30 October 2013, five trainees from the Spanish Basque Country have the opportunity to get to know German companies, language and culture: they are completing an apprenticeship in the field of machine tools in Chemnitz.
As part of their stay in Chemnitz, the young people will also visit Chemnitz Town Hall on Tuesday, 27 August . Pia Sachs, EU Coordinator in the City Mayor's Office, will welcome the trainees at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday at the main entrance to the Town Hall (Neumarkt side). Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
Pia Sachs will present information about the city of Chemnitz and its European work.
Celia Roos, a student of European Studies and current intern at the EU Office, will test the young guests' knowledge of Europe. The visit will be rounded off with a guided tour of the town hall by tower keeper Stefan Weber.
