Traffic restrictions on the B174 in Chemnitz
From 1 to 5 August 2016, there will be traffic restrictions on Zschopauer Straße in the area between Wilhelm-Busch-Straße and Otto-Thörner-Straße. During this time, only one lane will be available on the carriageway leading towards the city centre.
This traffic restriction is due to sampling in the road. Excavations will be carried out and cores taken.
After the road was accepted without defects in December 2014, steadily increasing carriageway deformations have now occurred. The cause of this is still unclear.
In order to determine a suitable renovation concept, the reason for the deformation must first be found. Various investigations are therefore being carried out on the asphalt, the unbound base layers and the soil.
Once the results of the investigations are available, the Civil Engineering Department will decide how to proceed with the contractor as part of the warranty.
