Traffic restrictions in the city centre

Information on the event and demonstration programme

Several events and demonstrations have been registered for the coming weekend, starting tomorrow, Friday, in Chemnitz city centre. In the course of these registrations, there will be traffic restrictions in Chemnitz city centre.

  • From 10 am today, 22 August, until 6 pm on Monday, 26 August, Fabrikstraße between Hartmannstraße and Bierbrücke, including the car park behind the Hartmannhalle and the parking spaces in this area, will be closed.
  • Brückenstraße between Theaterstraße and Straße der Nationen will be closed from 9 a.m. on Saturday, 24 August, until 11 p.m. on Sunday, 25 August.
  • On Sunday, 25 August, from 1.30 pm to 11 pm, Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen between Bahnhofstraße and Straße der Nationen and Straße der Nationen from Carolastraße will be closed. Access to Brückenstraße is free for local residents.
  • On Sunday, 25 August, from 11 am to 11 pm, a section of the car park at the Johanniskirche will be closed.
  • The car park at TIETZ will be closed on Sunday, 25 August, from 4 pm to 11 pm.

Please note that there may be short-term, operational closures by the Chemnitz Police Headquarters.
