Traffic restrictions for tomorrow's Chemnitz Marathon
Around 1,500 running enthusiasts are expected to take part in the 8th Chemnitz Marathon tomorrow, Saturday. The first starting shot will be fired at 10 am. The last runners are expected to cross the finish line at around 4 pm. Traffic restrictions are to be expected on Saturday.
The route of the 8th Chemnitz Marathon runs from the city centre via
Am Wall - Richard-Möbius-Straße - Düsseldorfer Platz - Webergasse - Jakobikirchplatz - Innere Klosterstraße - Markt - Bretgasse - Bahnhofstraße, Annaberger Straße, Beckerstraße to the city park and back.
Bahnhofstraße between Falkeplatz and Zschopauer Straße will be fully closed from 9.45 am. The closure of Annaberger Straße in the landward direction between Bahnhofstraße and Reichsstraße, which is also necessary, has already been in place since today. (Track construction work).
Beckerstraße between Reichsstraße and Treffurthstraße will become a one-way street (in the direction of Reichsstraße) from 8.45 am. Heinrich-Lorenz-Straße and Scheffelstraße will also be fully closed from 10 a.m. due to the crossing by the runners.
The event will be secured by forces from the Chemnitz police headquarters. Bus and train services will be operationally guaranteed.
Visitors and residents of the city centre should follow the traffic signs with traffic jams and diversion recommendations.
