Traffic restrictions for the night run on 3 May
On Friday, 3 May, the 2nd Chemnitz Night Run will be organised by Laufszene Events GmbH. The organisers are expecting up to 2,500 participants and are hoping for a corresponding number of visitors along the route.
The route runs from Brückenstraße via Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Promenadenstraße - Schloßteichwege - Schloßteichstraße - Bergstraße - Hartmannstraße - green area - Erich-Schmidt-Straße - Promenadenstraße - Georgstraße - Schloßstraße - "Janssenbrücke" - Stumpf Brückenstraße back to Brückenstraße. Most of the route will be on pavements.
Due to the set-up and dismantling work, Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße/Mühlenstraße will be closed to traffic from 12 noon on 3 May 2019.
The running route will be closed in the following areas from 6 pm:
- Mühlenstraße between. Brückenstraße and Georgstraße
- Georgstraße between. Mühlenstraße and Promenadenstraße
- Promenadenstraße between. Seumestraße and Arndtplatz
- Schloßstraße between. Theunertstraße and Georgstraße
At traffic blackspots, the police will carry out an operational closure.
Stopping and parking bans
On Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Mühlenstraße, stopping and parking is prohibited from 10 am to 11 pm. There will be a ban on stopping and parking on the running route from 4 pm to 10 pm. In order to ensure the safety of the event, it is imperative that the stopping bans are adhered to.
Access to the Mühlenstraße section between Georgstraße and Brückenstraße for local residents will be guaranteed via a police gate at the Georgstraße/Mühlenstraße junction. Access to the Brückenstraße stump will be ensured from Theaterstraße. Access to the Schloßteich area and the "Arndtplatz" car park will be operationally possible via Hartmannstraße - Promenadenstraße - Arndtplatz on the right.
Diversion recommendation
The traffic closures can be implemented via Bahnhofstraße - Brückenstraße - Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Mühlenstraße - Müllerstraße - Schloßteichstraße - Bergstraße - Hartmannstraße.
