Traffic restrictions for the Chemnitz Marathon
Chemnitz Marathon GmbH is organising the 9th Chemnitz Marathon next Sunday, 3 July from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm.
The route runs from the city centre via: Am Wall - Richard-Möbius-Straße - Düsseldorfer Platz - Webergasse - Jakobikirchplatz - Innere Klosterstraße - Markt - Bretgasse - Bahnhofstraße, Annaberger Straße, Beckerstraße into the city park and back.
Bahnhofstraße between Falkeplatz and Zschopauer Straße will be fully closed on this day from 9 a.m., as will Annaberger Straße in the landward direction between Bahnhofstraße and Reichsstraße.
Beckerstraße between Reichsstraße and Treffurthstraße will be converted into a one-way street (in the direction of Reichsstraße) from 8.30 am. It will still be possible to access Beckerstrasse via Annaberger Strasse/ Treffurthstrasse. Heinrich-Lorenz-Straße and Scheffelstraße will also be fully closed from 9.15 a.m. due to the crossing by the runners.
The event will be secured by forces from the Chemnitz police headquarters. Bus and train services will be operationally guaranteed. Visitors and residents of the city centre should follow the traffic signs with traffic jams and diversion recommendations.
