Traffic restrictions for the 24th Chemnitz City Festival from 24 to 26 August 2018
In connection with the city festival, there will be traffic restrictions in the city centre from Thursday, 23 August, 6 am to Monday, 27 August, 4 pm.
1. closures
1.1 Full closure from 23 August, 6 a.m.
- Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße
- Theaterstraße from Hartmannstraße to Brückenstraße
- Mühlenstraße from the level of "HeckArt"
- Stump Brückenstraße exit onto Theaterstraße, Brückenstraße, Mühlenstraße
1.2 Closures for through traffic with residents free from 23 August, 6 a.m.
- Mühlenstraße between Stadtbad up to the level of "HeckArt"
- Straße der Nationen towards the city centre from Carolastraße
1.3 Stationary traffic (securing construction work, diversion traffic)
Wednesday, 22 August, from 12 noon
- Parking areas Brückenstr. at Rondell incl. car park in front of the State Office for Taxation and Finance
Thursday, 23 August, from 6 a.m.
- Parking areas Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße
- Centre of Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Stadtbad
- Promenadenstraße between Erich-Schmidt-Straße and Hartmannstraße
2. accessibility of Stumpf Brückenstraße
Due to event areas at the junction of Brückenstraße / Theaterstraße and Mühlenstraße, access to the Brückenstraße stump from Mühlenstraße cannot be guaranteed.
It will therefore be necessary to change the traffic routing in this area so that access and exit will be via Schloßstraße - "Jannsenbrücke" using traffic lights. Please note that residents and businesses will only be able to enter the stump via a right-hand turning lane from Schloßstraße.
3. delivery traffic
Delivery traffic in the Brückenstraße (terminal) and Straße der Nationen area will be guaranteed until Friday, 24 August, 8 am.
4. construction work at the Brückenstraße pedestrian crossing (in front of the Freie Presse building)
From Thursday, 23 August, 7 a.m. to Friday, 24 August, 12 noon, the road surface in the pedestrian crossing will be repaired. During this time, it will not be possible to turn left from Straße der Nationen into Brückenstraße.
5th classic car event "Sachsen-Classic"
On Saturday, 25 August, the finish of the "Sachsen-Classic" will take place on the Straße der Nationen between Carolastraße and Brückenstraße. For this purpose, Straße der Nationen will be fully closed in this area from 2 pm to 6 pm.
