Traffic restrictions for the 1st Chemnitz Night Run on 4 May

Tomorrow, Friday 4 May, the 1st Chemnitz Night Run will be organised by Laufszene Events GmbH. The organiser is expecting up to 2,000 participants and is hoping for a corresponding number of visitors. The various races will take place between 7pm and 10pm

The route runs from Brückenstraße - Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Nordstraße - Seumestraße - Promenadenstraße - Schloßteichwege - Schloßteichstraße - Bergstraße - Hartmannstraße - Erich-Schmidt-Straße - Promenadenstraße - Georgstraße - Schloßstraße - "Janssenbrücke" - Stumpf Brückenstraße - Brückenstraße. Most of the running will be on pavements.

Due to the set-up and dismantling work, Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Mühlenstraße will be closed to traffic from 12 noon on 4 May.

The running route will be closed in the following areas from 6.15 pm:

  • Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Georgstraße
  • Georgstraße between Mühlenstraße and Promenadenstraße
  • Promenadenstraße between Seumestraße and Arndtplatz
  • Schloßstraße between Theunertstraße and Georgstraße

The event will be secured by forces from the Chemnitz Police Headquarters. Clearance will be given by the police after the end of the event, around 11.00 pm.

Stopping and parking bans
On Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Mühlenstraße there will be a ban on stopping and parking from 10 am to 11 pm. There will be a ban on stopping and parking on the running route from 4 pm to 10 pm. In order to ensure the safety of the event, it is imperative that the stopping bans are adhered to.

Access to the Mühlenstraße section between Georgstraße and Brückenstraße for local residents will be guaranteed via a police gate at the Georgstraße/Mühlenstraße junction. Access to the Brückenstraße stump will be ensured from Theaterstraße.

Diversion recommendation
The traffic closures can be avoided via Bahnhofstraße - Brückenstraße - Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Mühlenstraße - Müllerstraße - Schloßteichstraße - Bergstraße - Hartmannstraße.
