Traffic information for the Chemnitz night run on 7 May
Brückenstraße closed from 12 noon on 7 May
The Chemnitz Night Run 2022 will take place on Saturday, 7 May. The organiser Laufszene Events GmbH is expecting up to 2,500 participants and numerous additional visitors along the route.
The running route, which mainly runs along pavements, is as follows
Start Brückenstraße - Straße der Nationen (pavement) - Georgstraße - crossing Promenadenstraße - Schloßteichwege - Schloßteichstraße (pavement) - Bergstraße (pavement) - Hartmannstraße (footpath) - green area - Erich-Schmidt-Straße - crossing of Promenadenstraße - Georgstraße - Schloßstreet - "Janssenbrücke" - Stumpf Brückenstraße (footpath) - destination Brückenstraße
Necessary road closures
Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße/Mühlenstraße will be closed to traffic from 12 noon on 7 May for the set-up and dismantling work.
From 6 pm, the following areas will be closed for the running route:
- Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Georgstraße
- Georgstraße between Mühlenstraße and Promenadenstraße
- Promenadenstraße between Seumestraße and Arndtplatz
- Erich-Schmidt-Straße
- Schloßstraße between Theunertstraße and Georgstraße
Traffic hotspots will be secured by the Chemnitz Police Headquarters.
Traffic will be cleared by the police after the end of the event.
Stopping restrictions
No stopping signs will be erected on Brückenstraße from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on the running route from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. to safeguard the event. The stopping restrictions must be strictly adhered to.
Information for neighbours
For residents, access to Mühlenstraße between Georgstraße and Brückenstraße will be guaranteed via a police gate at the Georgstraße/Mühlenstraße junction.
Access to the Brückenstraße stump from Theaterstraße will also be guaranteed for residents.
Access to the Schloßteich area, Erich-Schmidt-Straße and the "Arndtplatz" car park will be operationally possible via Hartmannstraße - Promenadenstraße.
Bypass option
The traffic closures can be bypassed via Bahnhofstraße - Brückenstraße - Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Mühlenstraße - Müllerstraße - Schloßteichstraße - Bergstraße - Hartmannstraße.
