Traffic authority asks for attention: Bahnhofstraße between Carolastraße and Waisenstraße closed due to drinking water pipe accident
Diversion via Straße der Nationen and Brückenstraße - access to the main railway station guaranteed via Carolastraße and landward Bahnhofstraße
Road users are asked to pay attention to a necessary road closure: Bahnhofstraße in Chemnitz must remain closed to traffic with immediate effect in the direction of the city centre in the area between Carolastraße and Waisenstraße. The reason for the necessary closure, which is expected to last until Friday, 3 May 2013, is an accident involving a drinking water pipe with undercutting of the carriageway.
The company RAC (RAC-Rohrleitungsbau Altchemnitz GmbH) has been commissioned by the utility company eins energie in Sachsen to carry out the work and has already started repairing the damage on site.
Information for road users: The diversion route required due to the closure has been signposted and is via Straße der Nationen and Brückenstraße. The traffic authorities of the city of Chemnitz also recommend a diversion via Dresdner Straße. Access to the railway station is guaranteed via Carolastraße and the landward Bahnhofstraße. Pedestrians can continue to use the pavement in the area without restriction.
Due to the necessary full closure in the direction of the city centre, there will be changes at the public transport stop at Chemnitz main station. Passengers are asked to take note of the corresponding changes made by CVAG and regional transport with notices at the stop and on the Internet - www.cvag.de and www.vms.de
