Track construction work on the Straße der Nationen/Brückenstraße
Traffic restrictions from 18 to 30 July
From 4 a.m. on Monday, 18 July until 4 a.m. on Saturday, 30 July, CVAG will be carrying out track construction work on Straße der Nationen at the Brückenstraße junction. A mobile traffic light system will be put into operation on 15 July and both construction sites will be set up. Between 15 and 18 July, however, all directions of travel will still be possible.
Please note that Brückenstraße will be temporarily closed on the evening of Monday 18 July. The reason for this is the final concert of the European Summer Philharmonic 2022, which starts at 8 pm at the Karl Marx Monument.
From Tuesday, 19 July, the left-turn lane from Straße der Nationen into Brückenstraße in the direction of Bahnhofstraße will also be closed, so that it will only be possible to drive straight ahead in the direction of Roter Turm or right into Brückenstraße in the direction of Mühlenstraße.
The diversion for the cancelled left-turn lane runs via Carolastraße and Bahnhofstraße.
Access and exit to/from Johannisplatz (for residents such as eins, Biendo Hotel, Freie Presse etc.) is possible at all times as currently signposted.
The track construction work will be carried out in two phases. The first is in the area
Roter Turm stop to Brückenstraße, the second extends from Brückenstraße approx. 100 metres in the direction of Carolastraße. (Details of the construction work can be obtained from CVAG).
