On Tuesday 21 April at 7 pm (admission from 6.30 pm), anyone interested is invited to a special reading: Award-winning author Dana von Suffrin will present her latest novel "Toxibaby" at the Stefan Heym Forum in the TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20. The reading will be hosted by Rebecca Maria Salentin.

"Toxibaby" is an unsparing yet tender novel about the search for love that heals us - and that can destroy us. Dana von Suffrin tells the story of a relationship that wants everything: salvation, realisation, redemption. With sharp wit and great narrative power, she dissects the inability of an entire generation to relate.
Herzchen loves Toxibaby and Toxibaby loves Herzchen, the two immediately move in together and adopt a dog - and yet nothing works at all. Herzchen is the celebrated millennial writer who has everything, wants even more and yet is unhappy, Toxibaby is in his early 40s and thinks he has the weight of the whole world on his shoulders.
But for Herzchen, he is the man who means everything to her and who takes everything from her. He is beautiful, brilliant, angry at the world - and at her. What begins as intoxicating love turns into a struggle for closeness and self-assertion, a game of devotion, dependence and intellectual trial of strength.
Dana von Suffrin was born in Munich in 1985. She studied in Munich, Naples and Jerusalem and completed her doctorate in 2017 with a thesis on the role of science and ideology in early Zionism. She has been awarded numerous prizes, including the Klaus Michael Kühne Prize (2019), the Ernst Hoferichter Prize (2020), the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize (2020), the Tukan Prize (2024) and the Chamisso Prize (2025). She lives in Munich.
Rebecca Maria Salentin is an author, speaker and moderator. Her work has been honoured with numerous scholarships and prizes.
