Tower blowing from the old town hall tower
This year's tower brass season starts on Saturday, 5 June at 9.30 am. The traditional start of the season at Easter has been postponed due to the pandemic, just like last year.
The trombone choirs of the parishes from Chemnitz and the surrounding area will once again play every Saturday on the balcony of the tower of the Old Town Hall. They play tower music from the time of Gottfried Reiche, chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach and modern pieces by Traugott Fünfgeld. Each performance lasts about half an hour.
The tradition of tower bell ringing was started by long-time Chemnitz tower warden Stefan Weber († 2015). It dates back to the 1980s.
