Tour of friendship
30 years of town twinning between Chemnitz and Düsseldorf - arrival of Düsseldorf's cycling ambassadors on 21 June - joint ride into the city centre
To mark the 30th anniversary of the city partnership between Chemnitz and Düsseldorf, the "Tour of Friendship" started on 17 June. Two amateur cyclists from Düsseldorf are travelling to Chemnitz as ambassadors for Düsseldorf. The Lord Mayor of Düsseldorf, Thomas Geisel, personally sent them on their tour.
On Thursday, 21 June, at around 4 pm, the two amateur cyclists Alexander Koerfer and Andreas Vobis will arrive at the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Path in Taura after completing over 500 kilometres. The people of Chemnitz are invited to accompany them on the last 15 kilometres to Chemnitz city centre.
At 5 p.m., the cyclists and their companions will be welcomed by a city representative at Neumarkt.
