On Friday, 14 October at 2.30 pm, local residents and interested parties are invited to the topping-out ceremony for the new building of the emergency child and youth services at the Reichenhainer Straße 85 site by the future operators SFZ Förderzentrum gGmbH and IB Mitte gGmbH together with the Youth Welfare Office of the City of Chemnitz. The topping-out ceremony will also symbolise the construction of the second building at Chopinstraße 2.
Media representatives are also cordially invited.
Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky will open the event with a welcoming address. After the topping-out ceremony and the client's thanks, representatives of the Youth Welfare Office, the City of Chemnitz and the recognised independent youth welfare organisations SFZ Förderzentrum gGmbH and IB Mitte gGmbH will be available for interested citizens, neighbours and visitors. The representatives will be available to give tours of the new building and talk to interested members of the public, neighbours and members of the Youth Welfare Committee.
The child and youth emergency service is currently centrally located at Flemmingstraße 97 and enables children and young people in difficult situations to find peace and quiet in a protected environment for a limited period of time. The construction of two new, smaller properties will create modern, barrier-free, contemporary and safe places for eight young people each, whose families of origin do not provide a suitable home for various reasons. The construction projects started with the ground-breaking ceremony on 1 March 2022 and are proceeding according to plan. The opening of the two new facilities is planned for spring/summer 2023.
