Topping-out ceremony for the Glösa and Rembrandtstraße daycare centres
Invitation to the photo session: Friday, 1 June, 12 noon, Kita Glösa, Schulberg 1
Tomorrow, Friday 1 June at 12 noon, the topping-out ceremony for the Glösa and Rembrandtstraße daycare centres will be celebrated in the presence of the Mayor of Construction, Michael Stötzer. The guests will be received in the shell of the Glösa daycare centre, Schulstraße 1, 09114 Chemnitz, on behalf of both projects. Representatives of the building department, the Office for Youth and Family, the two directors of the day-care centres as well as craftsmen and representatives of the planning offices involved are expected to attend. Media representatives are cordially invited to attend.
Once completed, the new Glösa daycare centre will provide space for 100 children. The costs, including outdoor facilities, amount to 3.84 million euros. The budget for the facility at Rembrandtstraße 13 is estimated at 4.6 million euros. The daycare centre being built here will provide space for 100 children aged 0 to 3 years. In addition to their respective group rooms with sanitary facilities and cloakrooms, the children in both centres will have two multi-purpose rooms for movement, music and creativity. Completion of the two daycare centres is planned for September 2018. The general contractor is Krause & Co. from Neukirchen
Both new buildings are surrounded by park-like grounds with tall, shady trees. The daycare centre in Rembrandtstraße even has a biotope and will also have an adventure trail. The architects have taken the surrounding greenery into account in their designs: The children can observe nature while playing in the group rooms from window sills and floor-to-ceiling windows. The closeness to nature is also expressed in both daycare centres through high-quality curtain walls with a wood look. Windows on the east, south and west sides are fitted with solar shading in both centres. They also have special elements that always provide fresh air.
While attention is focussed on the topping-out ceremony in Glösa, the new daycare centre building at Rembrandtstraße 13 is also making rapid progress. Drywall work and electrical and heating installations are currently being carried out here and the interior plaster is being applied so that the screed for the floor can then be laid. Meanwhile, the reinforced concrete roof is being delivered for the daycare centre in Glösa. Finishing and façade work has already begun here this week.
