Topping-out ceremony for the extension to Adelsberg primary school

The topping-out ceremony for the extension to Adelsberg primary school will be celebrated on Thursday, 28 September at 10.30 am. The shell of the building will be decorated with the topping-out wreath in the presence of Michael Stötzer, Mayor of Chemnitz, representatives of the City of Chemnitz, architects, planners and representatives of the construction firms and companies involved.
Representatives of the media are also invited.
Access to the construction site is via Adelsbergstraße. Please note that there is limited parking available in the surrounding area.
The space available at the existing primary school will be expanded to meet the needs of a two-form entry primary school with eight classes. Eight classrooms and four specialist classrooms for art, handicrafts, music and IT will be created, as well as two group rooms and two after-school care rooms, plus office and meeting rooms for the after-school care centre and various social areas. The outdoor facilities will also be upgraded.
School operations have been relocated since February 2022 due to the construction work. The return to the building is planned for the start of the 2024 school year.
