Naming of the little Bactrian camel

On Easter Saturday (19 April) at 3 pm, the bactrian camel colt born at the end of March will be given his name. Zoo Director Dr Anja Dube: "The little Bactrian camel's future name will be chosen by our zookeepers from the 28 suggestions that we received at the zoo by the closing date yesterday. The name will then be announced on Saturday afternoon at the enclosure. The Bactrian camel will be given its name with a small splash of water and the winning name-giver will receive a small surprise as a thank you. We look forward to seeing lots of zoo visitors at this Easter event too!"

On Good Friday, the zoo welcomes the youngest visitors with a sweet surprise - while stocks last. On Easter Sunday, it's time for the Easter egg hunt in the wildlife enclosure from 10 a.m.: this traditional event has been organised by the staff of the wildlife enclosure for many years - visitors should plan on the enclosure not opening until 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
