Title and story for the Capital of Culture application are presented

The leitmotif for Chemnitz's bid to become European Capital of Culture 2025 has been finalised. Next Tuesday, 3 July, the Capital of Culture Office will present the story and the title.
The elaborated story is the conceptual framework for the application. What connects Chemnitz with Europe? What themes do the people of Chemnitz share with other people in Europe? And what role does culture play in the city's development and in relation to the challenges of the coming years? These are questions that the story explores. At the same time, however, it also describes the open scope for the projects with which the application will be concretised in the coming months.
Now that the main pillars of the concept have been defined, the aim is to work on projects and sustainable perspectives for urban development in intensive dialogue with the people of Chemnitz. The team headed by project manager Ferenc Csák is therefore inviting all interested citizens to a round table discussion in the Stadthallenpark on the same evening.
At the press event at 2 pm, Mayor Barbara Ludwig, project manager Ferenc Csák and consultant Christoph Thoma will present the cornerstones of the application. Programme Councillor Sabrina Sadowska and Cultural Ambassador Nicole Oeser will also be available to answer questions.
In the evening, at 7.30 pm, all citizens are invited to the table talk in the Stadthallenpark to discuss the vision for the city with the Lord Mayor, the Capital of Culture team and representatives of the Programme Council and the steering group of the application process. After a brief presentation of the guiding principles, a constructive dialogue will take place in the relaxed atmosphere of the park summer.
