Tips for personalised garden design

Adult education centre: Lectures on 10 and 19 May, 5 to 7.15 p.m. each day

On Tuesday, 10 May and Thursday, 19 May, both from 5 to 7.15 pm, interested parties will receive tips on individual garden design in lectures at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.

Both events are free of charge. Registration for the online lecture on 10 May is possible via the link https://vhs.link/K7Tms5, for the lecture on 19 May in the TIETZ, room 4.07 via the link https://vhs.link/ygmdz4. Alternatively, registration is also possible by telephone on 0371 488 4343.

On Tuesday, 10 May, speaker Petra Ottkowski will provide information online about heat-tolerant plants for dry soils. She will introduce plants that require little care and delight with colourful flowers even in extreme, full-sun locations. Interested visitors will also learn interesting facts about botanical survival artists that not only survive in the problem area of dry shade, but even thrive in it. An access link will be sent out by e-mail on the day of the event.

On Thursday, 19 May, gourmets will learn at the TIETZ, room 4.07, how limited space in the garden or on the balcony does not have to be an obstacle to growing aromatic berries or delicious home-grown apples. Petra Ottkowski will show how a pot garden can fulfil the desire for a snack garden. The passionate berry variety collector also presents tried and tested, historical varieties as well as interesting new varieties.
