Tips and tricks for saving energy

On Thursday, 6 October, from 5 pm, the adult education centre invites you to the event "Tips and tricks for saving energy" in the TIETZ, course room 4.07. Interested parties will receive helpful information for their own practice as well as tips on projects that support them individually in saving energy. This is the start of the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre's new series on raw material and supply security in the current winter semester.

Prices are currently rising everywhere - in retail and also in the currently strained energy sector. Electricity and heating costs have roughly doubled since the beginning of the year. Low-income households in particular are affected by the sharp rise in living costs. However, more and more people are now asking themselves how they can permanently reduce their energy costs without having to do without heat and electricity altogether.
At an information event, Tommy Tippner and Ulrich Sieber, energy consultants from Caritas, will demonstrate ways to save money when doing the laundry, showering, heating or cooking. For people on low incomes, contact points and projects will also be presented that provide personal and individualised support in saving energy.
The event is a cooperation between the Caritas Association for Chemnitz and the surrounding area and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
"Is everything running out?" - New series on raw material and supply security at Chemnitz Adult Education Centre provides information
The aim of the series of events is, on the one hand, to understand the background to current global developments. On the other hand, it aims to provide practical solutions for everyday life to the resulting problems. Topics such as energy supply, the scarcity of raw materials and, consequently, the shortage of food and everyday consumer goods are analysed in theory and practice. On the one hand, renowned scientists from German universities, who work closely with the industry, guarantee professional expertise. On the other hand, cooperation partners such as the consumer advice centre, Caritas and the ASR ensure that participants are optimally equipped for the new circumstances.
In the course of the current winter semester, the most relevant current topics will be dealt with first: the development of the energy sector and the supply of the retail trade.
At the beginning of next year, interested students will then gain an insight into the world of metals, which are essential for our modern technology.
