Tiger from Nuremberg moves into the zoo

A Siberian tiger will arrive at the zoo next Monday at around 11 am. The two-and-a-half-year-old male named Volodya was born in Nuremberg Zoo and is now migrating from the region where he was born, as is usual in nature and in zoos.
Representatives of the media are invited to this event.
An 18-year-old male tiger is currently still living at Chemnitz Zoo. Volodya is to liven up the enclosure, which consists of a small and a large enclosure and two indoor boxes, for the time being. The European Breeding Programme has been informed about the change and has approved it.
In the beginning, the young tom will probably not be seen in the large outdoor enclosure in order to familiarise himself with it.
The animal will be brought to Chemnitz by staff from Nuremberg Zoo. The unloading can only be accompanied from the visitors' side; it is not possible for media representatives to stay in the keeper's area. It cannot be predicted whether the animal will come out of its indoor box and make an appearance.
Siberian tigers have been kept at Chemnitz Zoo since the 1970s. They are the largest cats in the world. The species is highly endangered and the number in the wild is estimated at less than 500 animals.
