TIETZ: Visitor service opens on the ground floor

In the past few days, the joint visitor service of the TIETZ facilities has moved into its new home: in the foyer of the Kulturkaufhaus. From today, visitors can buy tickets for the Museum of Natural History and for events at the TIETZ. Museum publications as well as souvenirs and memorabilia such as minerals are also available. The staff are also available to answer any questions about the museum's programmes.

The information desk has the following opening hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday, public holidays from 10 am to 6 pm
  • Closed on Wednesdays (during the Saxon school holidays, open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

The European Capital of Culture bid office moved into the ground floor of the TIETZ last July. Two former shops have also been converted into an event room with a capacity of up to 40 seats. It is currently also mainly used by the bid team, but will also be available to associations and cultural organisations for events or meetings.

The redesign of the rooms was realised by GGG, which is the landlord of the building. Around 191,000 euros of municipal funds were invested in the project.
