Three plane trees are to be felled at the ‘Klostertor’

Next week, three plane trees will be felled at the ‘Klostertor’ and in the outdoor area of the Brazil restaurant. The trees in question died last summer and must be removed to ensure public safety.

The resulting gaps in the seating platform will be professionally filled with timber so that the platform remains accessible in these areas.

Replanting trees at this location is not readily possible, as this would require the platform to be removed and the young trees would be noticeably smaller than the remaining plane trees at the ‘Klostertor’.

The company Chemnitzer Forst und Landschaftsservice has been commissioned to carry out the felling.

All tree maintenance measures carried out in accordance with the duty to ensure public safety are legally permissible.

The locations of the trees can be viewed interactively on the City of Chemnitz’s thematic map.
