Thomas Kütter becomes the new Mayor for Urban Development and Construction
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council elected Thomas Kütter as the new mayor for Department 6 - Urban Development and Construction. The position will be filled for seven years from 1 September. With this election, Thomas Kütter succeeds Michael Stötzer, who headed the department for ten years.
Thomas Kütter is 49 years old, was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt and lives in Chemnitz. He has been Head of Building Management and Structural Engineering at the City of Chemnitz since July 2022. He is a trained carpenter and qualified civil engineer. From 2007 to 2022, Kütter worked for a nationwide construction company as a construction and project manager.
There were six candidates for the position of Head of Department 6.
