Think ahead! Sustainability festival in Chemnitz
Lectures, stands, workshops and exhibition on 2 November, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Carlowitz Congress Centre
On Saturday, 2 November, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the C³ Chemnitz Event Centres and the Chemnitz Environmental Centre invite you to the fourth "Think ahead! Sustainability Festival" at the Carlowitz Congress Centre. Under the motto "For a sustainable Chemnitz - we make our city liveable and fit for the future", interested parties and those committed to sustainable development can present themselves and exchange ideas. The entrance is located at Theaterstraße 3 and all offers are accessible at ground level or via a lift. Admission is free.
In addition to a musical prelude and a talk by chef, author and farmer Sarah Wiener, local representatives from civil society, education, universities and science, business and administration will present their projects, ideas and visions at stands and in short talks. A variety of topics will be represented: circular economy, edible city, nutrition, forest reorganisation, citizen participation, cultural formats, heat action plan, climate protection, energy supply, economy for the common good, education for sustainable development. Afterwards, open workshops will be offered on these topics, in which the content will be explored in greater depth or a lively discussion will take place.
The exhibition "Im Wald da sind die Bäume ... im Spannungsfeld von Mensch, Ökologie und Ökonomie" by BUND and the Sächsische Landesstiftung Natur und Umwelt will be on display at the same time.

Presentation of the Hans-Carl-von-Carlowitz Sustainability Awards 2024
On the evening before, 1 November at 5 pm, the Hans-Carl-von-Carlowitz Sustainability Awards 2024 will be presented by the Hans-Carl-von-Carlowitz-Gesellschaft e. V. at the same location. These prizes are awarded annually to individuals who have made an impact on politics and society in terms of sustainability. Further information here.
