Germany's most successful fantasy author Wolfgang Hohlbein will be a guest at the city library on Friday, 25 September at 7 pm. He will be reading from his fantasy novel for young people "Wolf-Gäng", which was made into a film in 2019. The book is about a vampire who can't see blood, a fairy with a fear of flying and a werewolf with an allergy to animal hair: Vlad, Faye and Wolf are the new kids at school. Unfortunately, they are labelled a laughing stock on their very first day. At the Penner Academy of all places, the most famous magical school in the world. The place is teeming with fairies, witches, trolls, dwarves and vampires. The three anti-heroes quickly become friends - and uncover a secret that puts the whole world in great danger!
Wolfgang Hohlbein, born in Weimar in 1953, is Germany's most successful fantasy author with a total print run of 44 million books. When Wolfgang Hohlbein celebrated his first major successes in the 1980s, he also helped German fantasy to make its breakthrough. His books "Märchenmond", "Enwor" and "Das Druidentor" are considered milestones of German fantasy. The current highlight is the star-studded Hohlbein cinema film "Die Wolf-Gäng" with accompanying book publication. Hohlbein lives with his wife and co-author Heike, his children and several dogs and cats on the Lower Rhine.
