The winners of "Take a seat" have been announced
Thanks to the support of Klub 2025, ten projects will be able to realise their ideas in Chemnitz this year
Take a seat: Communities create places and places create community - that was the idea behind "Take a seat". Chemnitz residents proposed 13 locations to fill unused areas or squares in the city with their own ideas. Around 3000 Chemnitz residents have now voted on these projects and chosen their favourites. These projects are to be realised this year.
Thanks to the support of Klub 2025, an association of various companies in the city that are supporting the bid to become European Capital of Culture 2025, the city will be able to fund not just five but ten projects this year.
Each project will receive a budget of 2025 euros. A sum that makes personal initiative both possible and necessary. Because the aim is a joint project that unites many talents.
The prizes will be officially presented to the ten projects on Friday 16 August in the town hall. Due to the great success of the campaign, Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig announced that it will be continued next year. "I am delighted that the idea of "Nimm Platz" has been so well received and hope that many Chemnitz residents will continue to take part in the coming year to make their own city more beautiful and liveable through small projects in many places. I would like to thank all participants who had the courage to take part in this first round."
