The surface course of Frankenberger Straße is being renewed
Extensive construction work to renew the surface course of the road, including the expansion of the bus stops in the pavement area, will be carried out on Frankenberger Straße between Glösaer Straße and Am Schnellen Markt from Monday, 6 October on behalf of the City of Chemnitz Civil Engineering Department.
The work, which will be carried out in several sections, will be completed in mid-November. The city is investing around 345,000 euros in the construction work.
The company ATS Chemnitz GmbH has been commissioned with the construction work.
Information from the traffic authority: Vehicular traffic in the area from Huttenstraße to Am schnellen Markt will be managed with one lane in each direction. It is not possible to enter or exit Frankenberger Straße from the side streets in the construction area. A short-term parking area will be set up in each of the side streets to provide access to the shops in the construction area.
Road construction in the area from Huttenstraße to Glösaer Straße is expected to begin in mid-October. Traffic will then be secured with half-sided closures and direction-changing traffic lights - the specific dates will be published as usual in the City of Chemnitz's weekly roadworks information with information from the traffic authority.
