The surface course of Chemnitzer Straße in the Grüna district is being renewed
On Monday, 3 November, extensive construction work will begin on Chemnitzer Straße in the Grüna district on behalf of the civil engineering department. The surface course of Chemnitzer Straße will be renewed in the area between Karlstraße and Goethestraße. After the preparatory work, the milling work will be carried out and then the asphalt will be laid. It is planned to complete the construction work on Sunday, 9 November.
The city is investing around 108,000 euros in the construction work. Faber Bau GmbH has been commissioned with the construction work.
Restrictions on traffic routing on Chemnitzer Straße are necessary for the planned rapid realisation of the construction work within just one week - road users please note the following information from the traffic authorities:
Chemnitzer Straße will be closed on one side in the construction area from Monday (3 November) to Wednesday (5 November) and traffic will be regulated by traffic lights.
From Thursday (5 November) until completion of the work on Sunday (9 November), the carriageway will be closed on one side with one-way traffic control for traffic heading towards the city in the direction of Goethestraße. Rural traffic (from the opposite direction) will be diverted via Dorfstraße.
Road users must also observe the stopping restrictions imposed during the construction period to ensure unhindered passage of public transport.
