"The stove setter" with author Christian Ahnsehl
Adult education centre: Reading and discussion on 7 July, 6 pm, Weltecho
On Thursday, 7 July, from 6 to 7.30 pm, the Lern- und Gedenkort Kaßberg-Gefängnis e. V. and the Volkshochschule Chemnitz invite you to a reading by the Rostock author and musician Christian Ahnsehl. He will be presenting his debut novel "Der Ofensetzer" at Weltecho, Annaberger Straße 24. He would also like to talk to his audience about his own experiences and the abuse of children and young people for state security spies in the GDR. Hanka Kliese, board member of the Lern- und Gedenkort Kaßberg-Gefängnis e. V. and member of the Saxon state parliament, will moderate the event.

Christian Ahnsehl, born in Greifswald in 1970, signed a declaration of commitment at the age of 15 as an unofficial employee of the GDR state security service. Nine months later, he managed to get out. He wrote about his experiences in his novel "Der Ofensetzer", which was published by Grünberg-Verlag in 2020. These will be the focus of the reading and discussion.
