The square in front of the Landesarchäologiemuseum to bear the name of Stefan Heym

The prestigious square in front of Haus Schocken, the future State Museum of Archaeology, will bear the name of the writer and honorary citizen of Chemnitz Stefan Heym. This was decided by the city council at its meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
The naming of Stefan Heym Square is to take place in connection with the 100th birthday of Stefan Heym in April 2013.
The square is currently being remodelled and designed by the city until around mid-November. The construction costs amount to 810,000 euros. At the same time, the traffic facilities will also be adapted.
